How is GPA calculated?+
GPA = Σ (grade points × credits) ÷ Σ credits. Each letter grade maps to a number (A = 4.0, B+ = 3.3, B = 3.0…), and higher-credit courses count proportionally more.
What's the difference between a 4.0 and 4.3 scale?+
On the 4.0 scale (most US schools), A and A+ both equal 4.0. On the 4.3 scale (McGill and many Canadian universities), A+ equals 4.3, giving high performers slightly more upside.
